James was in the annual Wales men's squad twice but he didn't ever play in a full international match for us. He eventually did win full international honours with the Netherlands in 2017. The youngest of four children, James' family hail from Holyhead and moved to Australia not long before he was born. His father passed away not long after he was born and was a very proud Welshman, so making the Welsh squad was a big deal for him and his family. Born in the Gold Coast in Queensland, he played for Burleigh Bears from age 11 until 25. After making the 2013 Wales World Cup squad, he moved to Brisbane and played for Wests Panthers for a season before transferring to Norths Devils. He moved over to the UK to Coventry Bears in 2015 and again made the 2015 squad, pulling on a Welsh shirt to play in the Danny Jones Memorial Match - Keighley Cougars v Wales on 25/10/2015.
