A Lions tourist in the first ever tour in 1910, he played in both the second ever match for Wales and Grest Britain, both against New Zealand. He made nine appearances on the 1910 Lions tour, just one of them being a senior international, which was against Australia. George Ruddick was born in 1881 in Brecon and played rugby for his local side before turning professional with Broughton Rangers in 1899. He ended up making 422 appearances for the club before injury in the Great War forced his retirement. He won the league and cup double with Broughton in 1901-02, a Lancashire Cup winners medal in 1906 and a further Challenge Cup in 1911. His death aged 67 was registered in Manchester in 1949. He is not to be confused with the Bath RU captain of the same name in the same era.
