Hailing from Chester, Josh played for Wales in the 2013 Rugby League World Cup due to the club residency rule that was in operation at the time. A cerebral palsy sufferer, Josh underwent a pioneering operation in 2012 at Liverpool’s Alder Hey Hospital to help him walk properly for the first time. He eventually learned to drive and passed his test, and also learned sign language to help with his limited speech. A Paralympic ambassador, he held the Olympic torch as part of the London 2012 Paralympic Games torch journey. Josh played for the North Wales Crusaders Wheelchair Rugby League side in 2013, but has since concentrated on Wheelchair Basketball, playing for RGK Sporting Club Rhinos.
