George was a founder member of the Wales Wheelchair Rugby League side in 2012, playing in that year's Four Nations, where Wales finished second in the tournament, and he was then named in the first ever Wales World Cup squad in 2013. However the year after, George switched international allegiances to Ireland and was a part of their squad that came second at the 2014 Four Nations where he was named Player Of The Tournament. He was also one of their main players that claimed the first ever Celtic Cup in 2015 following a two-game series against Scotland. George has not played internationally since the 2015 European Championships where he was once again a member of the Ireland squad who finished third overall. He has since gone on to retire from the game following health issues. Born in Manchester, George qualified for Wales through his residency as he previously lived in Wales for eight years before moving back into England. For a large portion of his life, George has suffered from severe Epilepsy and later a Brain Tumour and over the past number of years has he has become reliant on care from family and the use of mobility aids. Prior to this, George was an avid and accomplished Thai Boxer where he spent over 15 years training and fighting within the North West region of the UK. George was introduced to Wheelchair Rugby League through a close friend who played for Mersey Storm, playing for them for eight years where he helped them challenge for titles in the former Wheelchair Rugby League Premier League. He also went on to make a number of appearances for St. Helens following their merger with Mersey Storm in 2017.
