Iwan Brown came through the community ranks with Halton Simms Cross and played one season in the professional game with North Wales Crusaders in 2012. He also represented Wales and Great Britain Students and was in the Academic Lions side that made history by being the first side to seal a Test and Academic Ashes Series win on Australian soil. He was also one of the unique few non-English (even non-Northern English) players to be picked for a BARLA representative side, playing for the Great Britain BARLA under 21s in 2007.
