Matt Seamark first played for Wales in the 2011 Four Nations after contacting WRL to signify his Welsh qualification through his Grandfather. He went onto represent Wales in both the 2013 and 2017 Rugby League World Cups. Originally from Townsville, he played for their local side before joining Queensland Cup outfit Redcliffe Dolphins. In 2008, he moved to Wynnum Manly Seagulls, spending ten seasons there and breaking the club's appearance record by the time he retired in 2017, having played 190 games, which included two successive Queensland Cup Grand Finals wins in 2011 and 2012, when they were led by future North Queensland Cowboys coach Paul Green. His last game of professional rugby league was for Wales against Papua New Guinea in the 2017 World Cup. In 2020, he was voted into the Seagulls' Team of the Decade.
