A member of a famous St Helens family that produced three rugby league internationals: Eddie, Keiron and Tommy who all played for Wales. In Tommy’s case it was on two occasions. Despite spending three years at his hometown club, he only apppeared three times and eventually transferred to Warrington. There he fared slightly better, playing 30 times and scoring six tries, one of his games being in the Wire's famous 15-12 win over Australia in 1978.
