A Great Britain U21 international, Gareth started his pro career at Hunslet before moving across the city to Leeds. He was signed by Castleford for £65,000 in July 1994, going on to play for Hull FC, Sheffield Eagles, Halifax Blue Sox and York Wasps. Since retiring from rugby league, he's worked in construction engineering for a company called Doosan Babcock working on oil and gas plants, chemical plants and nuclear power stations.
