Desmond James Case played for Cross Keys and Newport before turning professional with Bradford Northern in 1938. He continued to play for the club during World War II, but did make guest appearances for Castleford. He was a Sergeant Major in the British Army during the War and played right wing for Northern Command XIII against a Rugby League XIII at Thrum Hall, Halifax on Saturday 21 March 1942. After 193 appearances, 79 tries and 10 goals for Bradford, he returned to Wales. He died in Blaenau Gwent on February 2nd 1997 aged 78.
