Morgan was introduced to rugby league at the University of Bath and became a Wales Student international going onto also play for Great Britain and touring South Africa. Whilst playing at semi-pro level, he studied for a Masters degree in Bath whilst also coaching the university side. A member of Wales' European Championship winning side in 2015.
