Anthony Farrell became an international player late in life, playing first for England, against Wales in the 1995 European Championship, then switched to Wales for the 2000 World Cup due to his heritage. He made over 400 first grade appearances in his career, including 187 in Super League, 122 of them for Leeds Rhinos. His final club was Halifax in 2004 and he was appointed their head coach in the middle of that season, remaining there for two years. During that time he was appointed assistant coach to Martin Hall at Wales. He became a prison officer after his rugby league coaching career.
