Lucia Davies started playing rugby union as a 19-year old at Cardiff Metropolitan University. Taking to it immediately, she gave rugby league a try with Cardiff Demons a year later in 2023. After just five matches of rugby league, she was selected for the Wales squad for the World Cup qualifiers in 2024.
