Fionn McCabe started playing Wheelchair Rugby League when he was just 11 years old, joining midway through the 2022 season after attending a taster session. One of the youngest members of the squad at the time of his arrival, McCabe quickly earned a reputation as one of the club’s strongest defensive players and he was only 12 when he made his WRL League debut in 2023, the fourth-youngest in the league that season. His performances were recognised at the club’s End of Season Awards, where he was named Young Player of the Year in 2022. He successfully retained the award the following season. Since 2023, he's rarely missed a match in the league and has helped his club to both WRL league and cup wins. His outstanding performances have also transferred to the RFL Championship with the Crusaders where he helped them to the Grand Final. He was first selected in the Wales squad in 2026 ahead of that year's World Cup.
