Sioned Young started playing rugby union at Swansea University in 2015 and also joined Pontarddulais RFC that season. She also played three matches on permit for Swansea RFC. For Swansea University, she was part of their first ever Swansea Women's team to win Varsity, and later travelled to China with them to play 7s, she still plays that version of the game socially for Sketty Hoops. She returned to Cardiff after University and played for Llandaff North Women from 2018 to 2024 where they won the WRU Plate, Cup and League during the time she was there. In addition to her playing, she was also the side's team manager for four years. She first played rugby league in 2023 for Cardiff Demons, making her debut in the Super League Nines. She was invited to join the Welsh squad in 2024 but injury kept her out. She made her Cardiff return, after almost a year away in June 2025 and was selected for the Wales squad for the summer internationals later in the year.
