The younger brother of full Wales international Jordan Ross, Matt made his Wales debut in a benefit match in Cumbria in 2023. He won his first full cap in 2024. He made his professional debut in 2015 for Hemel Stags, playing three seasons there before moving to London Skolars in 2018, Cornwall in 2024, then London Broncos in 2025. He has also turned out for Toulouse Olympique XIII in the French League and played for England Students in the 2017 World Cup in Australia.
