George Oliver won four caps for both the Wales rugby union and rugby league sides, becoming the nation's 16th dual code international. A rugby union player with Talywain, Pill Harriers and Pontypool, he turned professional with Hull FC in 1921. He later moved back to South Wales and played for the professional Pontypridd RLFC in their 1926-27 season, also representing Monmouthshire that year. He remained in Pontypool and died in the town on July 21st 1977 aged 86.
