Ian Webster qualified for Wales via the heritage rule and played in the 2013 World Cup. As of 2021, he holds the Welsh men's side record for most points in a game, 32, against Serbia in 2009. Starting off with Blackbrook Royals, he went through the St Helens academy and made just the one first team appearance for them in a Super League match away at Catalans Dragons in 2006. After that, he spent the rest of his career in the second level of rugby league, in England, Wales and Australia, initially with Widnes Vikings and then Celtic Crusaders, helping both sides to promotion to Super League. In 2009, he moved to Australia and joined Central Queensland Capras, playing 115 games in six seasons in the Queensland Cup, before switching sports and turning to boxing, which was his first love as a child. In 2017, he won the Australian light heavyweight boxing title. He eventually became a businessman and podcaster.
