Tommy Corneluis only played for Wales in a benefit game against a Rugby League XIII, which didn't count as a first class match. Starting off in rugby union at Cilfynydd, then Pontypridd, he played in a Wales rugby union international trial match in 1938, but didn’t make the final line up. During World War II he moved to Bristol and played for their side, which attracted attention from Leeds scouts in 1943. He played a trial match for Leeds under the name Thomas and was signed on pro forms directly after the match. After 115 appearances, 36 tries and one goal for Leeds, he joined Whitehaven for £850 in 1948 and was made captain. The following year, he was appointed as coach. He died in Stroud, Gloucestershire in 1979.
