Bethan Dainton started playing rugby league for The Army in 2021. She was selected for her first Wales Rugby League cap in 2022 against England, becoming the fourth female Wales dual code international. She previously played for Wales in rugby union between 2016 and 2021 winning eight caps in total and also played for Barbarians in 2021. With a background in crossfit, football and athletics, having represented Cwmbran Harriers and Wales on the track and at cross country, she started playing rugby union in 2015 with Newport Gwent Dragons, going on to also represent Bristol Bears and Harlequins, as well as the Army and UK Armed Forces. She helped the latter to win the plate of the inaugural Women's World Cup in New Zealand in 2022 and picked up the Player of the Tournament award. She signed for Leeds Rhinos for the 2023 season.
