Chester Butler is fortunate to be from a strong family of sporting stars. His grandfather was Welsh rugby league legend Colin Dixon, while his dad, Peter Butler, played football in the Premier League and Football League and in 2019 was appointed the Liberian national team manager. Chester was a late starter in rugby league, first featuring for Halifax’s reserves at aged 20. After shining at that level, he soon progressed to their first team, where coach Richard Marshall described him as a ‘raw talent’. He made his Super League debut for Huddersfield in 2020 and later joined Bradford Bulls.
