Ricky Declan Hough came through the North-East rugby league development system and after making his Gateshead Thunder debut, he was given a chance with Wales thanks to the heritage rule. However he played just one more game for Thunder in 2015 and switched to the community game with Myton Warriors and West Hull. He later made appearances for Hemel Stags in their final season in League 1.
