A product of the Champion Schools system with Brynteg Comprehensive in Bridgend, he was a try scorer in their Year 7 Final win at the Millennium Stadium in 2005. A Wales U16 and Wales U19 international, the latter whilst in the Leeds Rhinos academy, he eventually plied his trade in the Queensland Cup. He missed on the 2017 World Cup due to injury and later had a break from the game to recover from ailments, but made a comeback for the Wales men's side for the World Cup in 2022.
