Born in 1891, Sidney George Jerram originally played rugby union for Swansea, but following a meeting with a Wigan rugby league club representative at the Bush Hotel in Swansea on Sunday 28 September 1913, he and his club half-back partner, George Owens were each signed for £180 down payment, guaranteed win bonuses, and jobs for £2 per week cash. Sid had recently impressed in Swansea's 3-0 win over South Africa. He won a Championship medal with Wigan, playing in the 1922 13-2 Final win over Oldham, a Challenge Cup winners medal, after playing in the 21-4 win in 1924, also against Oldham. He also played in the 1922 Lancashire Cup Final win over Leigh and picked up four Lancashire League winners medals. He died in Swansea in 1959.
