Viv Harrison played rugby union at Pyle RFC in Bridgend before his teaching work took him to Essex where he turned out for both Chingford and London Welsh. He turned professional with St Helens in 1950, making 57 appearances over two years, scoring 20 tries and kicking 82 goals. He moved back to Essex to continue with his teaching career after retiring from playing. He died in Redbridge, Essex in August,1989, aged 67.
