Harold Box qualified for Wales under the heritage rule. Born and brought up in Yorkshire, he started with the Fryston Warriors club before eventually joining Featherstone Rovers in 1970. He made 283 appearances for the club, scoring 57 tries and kicking 476 goals and was awarded a benefit season in 1979-80, with his testimonial match being against Wales on May 11 of that year. As well as winning threee Yorkshire County caps, he also played for Other Nationalities in 1975. In 1980, he joined Wakefield Trinity and had another outstanding record, scoring 20 tries and kicking 59 goals and 10 drop-goals in 132 games. After retiring, he turned to coaching locally as clubs like Featherstone Lions and Heworth. He was later inducted into the Featherstone Rovers Hall of Fame and was a steward at "The Last Orders" pub in Pontefract.
