The son of Great Britain international Gary Divorty, Ross qualified for Wales via the heritage rule. An England Youth player, Ross played against Wales at that time, before making his senior international debut for Wales against England in 2009. He was a part of the Wales side for five seasons, winning European Championship medals in 2009 and 2010, playing in the 2011 Four Nations and 2013 World Cup. He played at club level for Doncaster, Featherstone Rovers, Halifax and York City Knights, before retiring to become a primary school teacher.
