Clive Jones moved from Aberavon RFC to Warrington, for the start of the 1972-73 season. However he faced stiff competition for his second row place from people like Mike Nicholas and Bobby Wanbon so his appearances were limited to 44 over his two and a half years there. He played in Warrington's successful 1973-74 season but missed out on their treble of cup final wins. He moved to Leigh in December 1974 where he made over 100 appearances before spending a month at Oldham in 1979, then retiring. He remained in Warrington and in recent years coached locally at Culcheth Eagles.
