In addition to his Welsh caps, Dai Rees won one Great Britain cap on home soil and also toured with the Lions in 1924 but didn't play in any of the test matches. He also turned out from Glanorgan and Monmouthshire, plus Other Nationalities. Initially a rugby union player with Abertillery, Dai turned professional with Halifax in 1921. A one-club man, he made 279 appearances, scoring 28 tries and kicked two goals and is in the club's Hall of Fame. His most famous match was in 1931 when he played in Halifax's 22-8 win over York in the Challenge Cup Final at Wembley. On retiring, Dai went into coaching and was at the helm of Bradford between 1936 and 1960 winning every honour in the English game.
