Adrian Cambriani made his Swansea debut at the age of 17 amid suggestions the big and powerful wing might just turn out to be Welsh rugby’s next big thing, but he didn’t last long in rugby union. Just four months after his debut, when he scored three tries in four games, he turned professional with the newly formed Fulham for a signing on fee of £16,000. Just a year after his switch he was playing for Wales. After 71 appearances and 27 tries, he spent a season at Hull before two more back at Fulham, playing a further 50 times and scoring 15 tries. He moved back to his home city and his son Ben later also played for Swansea, and then the Ospreys.
