Born in Gosford on the New South Wales coast, Aaron Summers had Welsh heritage. He started his career with North Sydney Bears before being brought over to England with Whitehaven, scoring two tries in 24 appearances. Two seasons with Widnes Vikings followed where he again made 24 appearances per season, scoring seven tries in total, before playing for Celtic Crusaders in the 2008 season, this time making 25 appearances and scoring two tries. In quite a remarkable record, Aaron played in the National League 1 Grand Final every year for four years with his three different clubs and was on the losing side each time. His dream of Super League failed to turn into reality each time - promotion being denied for the first three seasons, but in 2008, Celtic Crusaders had already been guaranteed a top flight place. However Aaron wasn't kept on and returned to Australia signing for Brisbane Broncos but failed to make a first team appearance. He instead played for Queensland Cup sides Sunshine Coast Falcons and Central Queensland Capras before retiring.
