Gareth Price was a rugby union player with Hendy, then Neath, before signing for St Helens in 1997, eventually making his debut in 1999. Outings with Leigh Centurions, London Broncos, Salford City Reds, Rochdale Hornets and Hull Kingston Rovers followed, before he eventually made it home with a loan spell at Celtic Crusaders in 2006. Following more short stints and Widnes Vikings and Leigh again but he lost his job at the club after failing a drugs test in the summer of 2008. So he moved to Australia, and when allowed to play again, he did so for local clubs in New South Wales and Western Australia.
