Hefin O'Hare played for Wales in the 2000 World Cup. Wrexham-born, he started playing rugby union in the north-west of England and played for Merseyside-based New Brighton before signing professionally with Leeds Carnegie, representing Wales rugby union at U21 level. He switched codes, but not stadia, in 1999 and played for the Rhinos, before spending five years at Huddersfield Giants. He went back to union in 2005, moving to Scotland which is where he remained ever since. He made 121 appearances for Glasgow Warriors and also made appearances on dual registration for a number of lower league sides. After living in Scotland for three years, he qualified for Scotland and turned out for their 7s side, playing in seven different events between 2008 and 2010, including the 2010 Commonwealth Games where they lost to Samoa in the Plate Final. After retiring, he went into building surveying, moved to Fife and owns his own company.
