Jordan James became Wales' 45th international captain when he led us against Ireland in 2009. It was the first of four times where he skippered the side. His final, and 30th Welsh cap, was against Cook Islands in the 2013 Rugby League World Cup, which equalled Ian Watson's appearance record. He made his Wales debut in 2003, scoring a try against Russia in Aberavon, the first of nine he would get for his country. He only once missed a match during his 11 seasons with Wales, that a friendly against Italy in 2010. During his time with Wales, he captained the side to the 2009 European Championship win and also led Wales to two of our three wins in the 2010 tournament, handing over the reigns to Gareth Thomas for the final victory against France. He played in all three matches in the 2011 Four Nations and in the 2013 World Cup. Jordan is a former Royal Marine of 42 Commando who served with the marines in Iraq and was awarded the King's Badge during his Marines training. He played community rugby league with Gloucestershire Warriors before being signed by Sheffield Eagles. He spent two years there, another two at Castleford, before a short spell at Wigan and then a couple of years at Widnes. However it was at Celtic Crusaders where he made his name, helping them to second place in National League 1 in 2008 before playing in all three years of their Super League tenure. During that time, he also played at South Wales Scorpions, starring in their first game, a 22-20 win at home to Workington Town. Spells at Salford, Wigan, Workington and Swinton followed before he retired in 2015. His final Super League record read 14 tries in 112 appearances. Following this, he coached in the Wigan Warriors junior set-up before becoming a DJ and then a hairdresser. In addition, he appeared in the fourth series of the ITV dating show Take Me Out, securing a date with Victoria after becoming the first person in the history of the show to still have all 30 lights left on in the final round.
