Leanne Burnell - Half back

Leanne Burnell started in rugby union playing for Pencoed Phoenix, leading them to a WRU Bowl Final in 2014, where she scored a try. Player of the match in the first ever open age women's rugby league match in Wales when playing for Cardiff Blue Dragons, she went on to represent West Wales and then played for Wales in the first two women's internationals in 2019 carrying on with the side and helping them lift the European Championship B trophy in 2022. A member of the Cardiff Demons side who won two successive Super League South titles, she was appointed club captain in 2023 after being named in the WRL Team of the Year in 2022. Works in the accountancy trade outside of rugby.
