Bernard McNally played both rugby union and rugby league for Cardiff, they were of course different clubs and when he had played professionally, he could no longer go back to amateur rugby union. During his time with Cardiff RLFC, he represented a Welsh League XIII against Italy and Wigan. He moved to Rochdale Hornets in 1952 and won his lone full Welsh cap. He also played for a World XIII, who took in France on New Year's Day 1954. He died on October 10, 1999, aged 73.
