Chris Davies, known to many as "dog" due to his fiery temper on the field, came through the youth ranks at Celtic Crusaders and was a member of their squad who won the National Youth League Grand Final in 2009. He also won six Wales U19 caps, two of them after his lone senior cap in 2010. He didn't ever make a first team appearance at Crusaders, but was a sold performer for South Wales Scorpions in 2011. He went back to local rugby union for a few years, before more appearances for the Scorpions in 2016 and 2017. He ended up with two tries from 27 appearances there. He also made one appearance for West Wales Raiders in 2020, indispersed with his local rugby union club appearances, the highlight being a WRU Plate Final win with Brecon in 2019.
