Terry Price is one of the few players in history to play for Wales and the Lions in both rugby union and rugby league. However he only appeared for the rugby union Lions as a tourist, on the 1966 campaign to Australia and New Zealand, and not in a test. He won eight caps for Wales in rugby union and five in rugby league. In 1970, he again went on tour to Australia and New Zealand but this time in a paid role. He was top scorer on the tour with 117 points but played in just the one test, a defeat to Australia in Brisbane. It end up being his only GB cap. Starting off in rugby union with local clubs Hendy and New Dock Stars, he was still a student at Leicester University when he was first selected for Wales to face England in Cardiff in 1965 and he helped them to win their 10th Triple Crown and the championship. He turned professional with Bradford Northern in July 1967 for £8,000. The contract guaranteed him £2,000 a year for four years. At the end of his contract with Northern, with 123 appearances, 25 tries and 384 goals for the club, American football beckoned and the last thuds of that mighty boot were heard when he played for the Buffalo Bills as a place-kicker in pre-season friendly matches. He moved back to his native Hendy buy died in Bicester, Oxfordshire in a tragic incident on 7 April 1993 on the side of a road whilst helping a motorist whose car had broken down.
