Iestyn Harris had a distinguished playing career with Wales and Great Britain, and had just retired as a player when given his first coaching job, that of Wales head coach, in 2009. With Clive Griffiths in situ as adviser, Wales won the 2009 and 2010 European Cups to qualify us for the 2011 Four Nations. However after failing to win for three years, including three defeats in a home World Cup in 2013, WRL and Harris parted company. He had brief coaching spells at Salford and Crusaders before turning his attention to a career in other aspects of rugby league. His grandfather Norman Harris also played for Wales.
